WishList Member Building A Thriving Community (Video 1)

In this video Stu McLaren, WishList Products Co-Founder, talks about an emerging trend that smart businesses from the very small to fortune 500 companies are beginning to take advantage of. Why, because this trend results in bigger profits, more loyal customers and more excitement about future products and services that they release.

So what is the trend? The trend is building a thriving community around your product, service or brand. This trend goes well beyond the “normal” membership site, it’s about building a loyal fan base and doing things inside your community that create “raving” fans to rival those of super stars.

Stu shows how the “MINI” car has progressed and thrived, from the first MINI sketches in 1957 when the car was produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC), to the present day “MINI” produced by BMW (the new owner of the brand).

  • The Mini community thrives on events, like David Bowie who succumbed to the charms of the Mini in 1998, and stories like the unsuspecting MINI driver in Belgium who was caught on a speed camera and given a speeding ticked for travelling at 3,381 km/h – that’s three time the speed of sound.
  • Stu also discusses TheadList and how they made over $30M (2007) with a growth rate over 200% from their thriving community.

Well, I hope you found something useful and enjoyed this video by WishList Products, please don’t forget to let me have your thoughts on this item. See you soon.
